The encounter between research and creation takes many forms today. In terms of research, artistic practices make it possible to articulate a sensitive, intimate, subjective, fictional or fanciful approach to the needs of the investigation, the relevance of the field, knowledge issues or heuristic capacity. In terms of art, the research paradigm has been able to accompany the "return of reality" in contemporary art, the rise of documentary practices in the arts, the momentum of projects at the interface between arts and sciences, the renewal of conceptual or critical approaches, or the confluence between artistic practices and social commitments. For artists as well as researchers, it seems essential to develop this ability to trust the tools of creation. It is also important to place research-creation at the center of current political questions, to articulate this mode of research with the major contemporary re-perspectives that are, for example, the environmental crisis, the feminist revival or decolonialism. The convergence between research and artistic practices brings other ways of understanding the world and making it sensitive.
