100% Publikum Eine Daten Performance in Zusammenarbeit mit Rimini Protokoll (videos)

100% audience. A large, empty room with black-shrouded windows. Inside 40 people. Questions ring out from a loudspeaker. The crowd lines up according to height, age and eye colour. Then by number of siblings, by number of countries travelled to. By addictive behaviour or how they deal with relationships. Sometimes anonymously and blindfolded. In the open specialist module ‘Data Performance’, students from all bachelor's areas of Design Film Art developed the data performance ‘100% Publikum’ in collaboration with the theatre collective Rimini Protokoll. The module pursued approaches and ideas on how data can be visualised performatively and physically. It centred on the question of how we behave as individuals towards and within a group. What do we reveal about ourselves? Where do we belong, where do we distance ourselves? When do we answer truthfully, when do we keep the truth to ourselves? Through physical expression, qualitative data was quantified and visualised spatially. The audience themselves became protagonists. They represented individual data points in the space and were simultaneously part of a collective response.
